Hi, I’m Jessica Parker, and I play setter for the University of Rhode Island. I love spending time with my family, making matcha, exploring fashion, shopping, and arranging flowers.

One thing people often don’t know about me is that I used to ride horses!

As a setter, I enjoy being the quarterback of the team—running the offense, making quick decisions, and creating opportunities for my hitters to succeed.

Volleyball has been a huge passion because it’s taught me grit, resilience, and the importance of hard work. It’s helped me manage my time, push through setbacks, and build strong friendships that I cherish.

I was fortunate to have great mentors growing up who believed in me and helped me grow both on and off the court. Now, as a college athlete, I want to offer that same support to younger players and help them reach their full potential.

If I could speak to my younger self, I’d say it’s okay not to take the sport so seriously all the time. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself to be perfect, but I’ve learned that confidence comes from enjoying the process and being consistent—not stressing over every mistake.
